Frequently asked questions

Why is a card empty or missing?

Every card can be switched on and off in the sidebar (the panel icon in the top left). Cards you turn off disappear from the dashboard. You can also reorder cards and change their width there.

The precipitation radar, next-hour precipitation, maritime conditions or the weather summary is not showing

These are part of the optional monthly subscription. After purchase they appear on the dashboard automatically — scroll down, they sit below the standard forecast cards.

Some of them also depend on data availability for your location: next-hour precipitation and the weather summary come from Apple Weather and require iOS 16 or later; maritime conditions come from MET Norway and cover northern and north-western Europe only. Where data is unavailable, the card says so.

How do I cancel the subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your device open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, select Meteo Dashboard and cancel there, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

I bought the subscription but it is not active on my other device

Open the sidebar, tap Activate subscription and then Restore Purchases. Make sure both devices use the same Apple Account.

Home screen widgets are empty

Widgets read the cities and forecast saved by the app. Open the app once so it can refresh the data, then remove the widget and add it again. If it stays empty, please write to us.

The e-mail widget cannot connect

The widget is a read-only inbox preview over IMAP. For Gmail and other providers with two-factor authentication you need an app password, not your normal account password. Your credentials are stored only on your device, in the iOS Keychain, and your messages are never sent anywhere else.

Which weather data do you use?

Forecasts from MET Norway (YR.no), radar and map layers from Microsoft Azure Maps / AccuWeather, air quality from OpenAQ, city search from OpenStreetMap, maritime conditions from MET Norway Oceanforecast, and — with the subscription — Apple Weather as a second source. The full list with licences is in the app under Sidebar → Data sources and licences.

Does the app collect my data?

No. The app has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. See the Privacy Policy.
